Don’t Send Me A Card

GREEN GREETING CARDS
Don’t Send Me a Card (DSMAC) send e-cards on your behalf for a very tiny fee that goes to charity.

Although receiving a card is lovely – producing, posting, and decomposing them impacts negatively on the environment, not to mention how expensive it can be.

With DSMAC, the money you would usually spend on a card or stamps is donated to charities like Sunflowers Children’s Action Group – it’s a win-win! All you do is choose a card design, select an amount to donate and send the card to up to 5 email addresses. Just click here to get started.

Winsby Community Lottery

We are part of the Winsby Community Lottery, which is drawn every Saturday. You could be in with a chance of winning £25,000 if your numbers match those drawn for the top prize. It costs £1 a week, with 50% of funds coming to us and a further 10% being fed back into the community too!

Donations

Your donations are vitally important for our work to continue. Our small team gives their time for nothing, but your donation means we can really make a difference to the lives of our special children and their families.

There are several ways you can donate:

By post: Simply send your cheque to Sunflowers Children’s Action Group, PO Box 667, Grimsby DN31 1JP with a covering letter. If you are a taxpayer and would like to donate Gift Aid, please download the form and include it with your donation. Please ensure you include your contact details so that we can acknowledge your donation.

Fundraising Events

Great Whernside Wander

Our Emmerdale friends Chris Chittell, Nick Miles, Isobel Hodgins, Tony Audenshaw and Liam Fox, and friends JoJo Fox and Liam Calland walked to raise awareness for our charity. They were joined on the walk by some of our volunteers and families.

Just over £7,000 was raised. A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, took part, and gave their time and energy for nothing, especially the team from Emmerdale, who met their own costs and gave their time for nothing. A day of true generosity of spirit and effort which will help to make a difference for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Thanks to the team from Flatfish in Grimsby for putting together a large team and going all out with their fundraising, and to Forrester Boyd for putting their corporate team in. Thanks to Bridge McFarland for the donation of £250 towards the cost of the coach. Also to the many individuals both on the coach, and joining at Ribblehead – a huge thank you for taking part and for your fundraising efforts. Thanks to the first-aiders from Blue Lights Brigade and finally, we mustn’t forget Gary Davies Photography for the fabulous pictures.

KCOM – Bigger Than Broadband Charity Bike Ride

KCOM – Bigger Than Broadband Charity Bike Ride

As part of their expansion into North Lincolnshire, dozens of employees from KCOM donned orange cycling shirts for a sponsored bike ride which was match funded by KCOM. We received £1,185 as a result of this event and Kate was delighted to accept the money on our behalf.

Nathaniel’s Triple Challenge

Thanks so much Nathaniel!
Emily’s Sponsored Haircut
Emily has decided to have her lovely long hair cut to make a difference to our children and is getting sponsored to do so. She is going to have around 12″ taken off and will be sending her pony tail to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for young people who have lost their own hair, often owing to cancer treatments.
Emily will be having this done locally on Friday 30th October at 3pm but has set herself a big target. You can help her to make a difference to very deserving and brave children by making a donation and/or sharing this post.
On behalf of all our incredible children, we would like to thank Emily for doing this and hope you will consider supporting her.
