AJ Bell Great North Run
We have ten places in this year’s AJ Bell Great North Run and we’re looking for enthusiastic and committed people to run in it for us.
The sponsorship money you raise will go straight to making a difference to the lives of our brave children who contend with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. We love to create includive events for them, to make new friends, offer family support and reduce isolation. Best of all, we like to provide fun and magic!
We have ten places of our own to fill (some of these will be taken already but if you are seeing this, we have some still!)
We are asking for a £50 non-refundable donation towards the entry fee and the minimum amount of £250 per person to be raised. This is considerably less than many other charities ask for.
Our small charity comprises of dedicated volunteers – no one is paid – so outside of very necessary costs, every step you take will make a difference to our children. There’s lots of time to train – will you join our team? Please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Winsby Community Lottery
We are part of the Winsby Community Lottery, which is drawn every Saturday. You could be in with a chance of winning £25,000 if your numbers match those drawn for the top prize. It costs £1 a week, with 50% of funds coming to us and a further 10% being fed back into the community too!
Great Whernside Wander
Our Emmerdale friends Chris Chittell, Nick Miles, Isobel Hodgins, Tony Audenshaw and Liam Fox, and friends JoJo Fox and Liam Calland walked to raise awareness for our charity. They were joined on the walk by some of our volunteers and families.
Just over £7,000 was raised. A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, took part, and gave their time and energy for nothing, especially the team from Emmerdale, who met their own costs and gave their time for nothing. A day of true generosity of spirit and effort which will help to make a difference for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Thanks to the team from Flatfish in Grimsby for putting together a large team and going all out with their fundraising, and to Forrester Boyd for putting their corporate team in. Thanks to Bridge McFarland for the donation of £250 towards the cost of the coach. Also to the many individuals both on the coach, and joining at Ribblehead – a huge thank you for taking part and for your fundraising efforts. Thanks to the first-aiders from Blue Lights Brigade and finally, we mustn’t forget Gary Davies Photography for the fabulous pictures.
Your donations are vitally important for our work to continue. Our small team gives their time for nothing, but your donation means we can really make a difference to the lives of our special children and their families.

Fundraise For Us
There are lots of ways that you can help us raise funds to provide events and activities for our children. You could hold a fundraising event such as a cake stall at school or work, or a sponsored event like a 10k run or a sponsored silence. Or you can make a donation using our donation page. When planning a fundraising event, it is the organiser’s responsibility to ensure health & safety requirements and adequate insurance for Public Liability and event cancellation are in place.
As part of their expansion into North Lincolnshire, dozens of employees from KCOM donned orange cycling shirts for a sponsored bike ride which was match funded by KCOM. We received £1,185 as a result of this event and Kate was delighted to accept the money on our behalf.
